MOON WAS TACIT is a series of visual poetry in the form of “moonscapes”. A random discovery about a lunar crater “Beer” on a map, inspired me to inspect subjects from memories and to find meaningful reflections on life experiences. Microscopic images are transformed into literal analogies through this journey of self scrutiny, shedding light on emotions and feelings which are usually kept unspoken of. The objectivity of scientific specimens and magnification of partial reality, intertwined to create multiple perspectives of myself and the world.

Over the past few years I have been on a path of soul searching in the course of career shift and identity enquiry. The notion about reality, perspective and self awareness constantly revolved my mind. How free will or randomness played a role in shaping choices and consequences, in mediation of the self and societal norm became a repeated exploration through my creation. The techniques of silkscreen printing combined with the use of stencils, or mold-blowing in glassmaking, all provided me the visual language to construct a narrative between constraint and transformation.
